Minorarc

A single pane of glass behind the door? That’s a little dangerous! Alas, all one can do then is move closer and take a peek inside. Will this be the window to a creator’s soul? Or an installation that is designed to be witnessed from a distance?

Approaching the glassy pane, you feel heat upon your face and the scent of recently charred timbers. Somewhere in the distance, from darkness, arises a desolate landscape. Below, flames cling to a mountain’s edge like strangely swaying lichen, holding tight and refusing to budge. Yes, this glass must be here for your own protection.

Where the fleeting take their dive to roaming smog.
The very edges of eons a time so fleeting.
Clicking, clicking, that edge upon the fatiguing cog.
Fire and entity in patterns repeating.
Crawling slowly to where all be split.
We are but a fracture, a flame’s solemn spit.

Artist Profile

Name: Minorarc

Official Website: https://www.minorarc.net

Bio: Minorarc is a progressive metal, dark classical and electronic experimental music project by Australian musician and underground community founder, Ivan Bullock. A sonic exploration of despair and regret, built through piano, guitar, bass and synthesis.

In 2022, having spent substantial time in the studio, Minorarc completed their crowd-funded second full-length album, “Untold“, accompanied by “Untold – Blind Remixes” and a side-dish album “Overburden“. These releases are a largely instrumental journey into a drowned soul’s recollection of life events, peace interrupted by violent storms, and unfamiliar hallucinatory visions.

In 2023 the project released a short album “Inclusions“, an instrumental exploration of progressive rock, neoclassical sounds and modern metal. Contradictory, complex and oft disjointed, it forms a desperate search for answers within the flaws and cracks of spiralling dreams.

Now in 2024, Minorarc is working to prepare for live performances of its most recent work alongside a number of guest and session musicians.
